The Highway Division is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the sanitary sewer and storm drain systems. This includes main and service lines on both public and private ways. If you have any questions or require service, contact the Highway Division Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm at 617-993-2690. For emergency service during evenings, weekends and holidays, call the Communications Center number at 617-993-2501.
Sanitary sewer fees are based on 100% of metered water consumption and are set annually by the Board of Selectmen. The current rate is $10.11 per 100 cubic feet of water and there is a minimum $14.30 service charge for a 5/8 meter per quarter (there is a price increase for larger meters). Billing is through the Water Division office and billing questions should be directed to 617-993-2700 Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Payments can be made in cash or check to the Town of Belmont at the Town Treasurer's office located at 19 Moore Street in Belmont or at the Belmont Municipal Light Department located at 40 Prince Street in Belmont.
