Definition: Leaves, twigs, grass, weeds flowers, wood chips, plants, hedge & shrub prunings 1" or less in diameter and other easily raked yard waste.
No tree limbs or branches greater than 1" diameter. No food scraps, animal waste, trash of any kind, rocks, soil or plastic bags are allowed.
Packaged: Place in 30 gallon biodegradable paper bags or barrels with stickers no larger than 32 gallons or 50 pounds in weight. Close bags by folding over only; no staples or tape.
Curbside Pickup: Material should be put out by 7:00 am on collection days. Yard Waste is collected every other week on your recycle day from April until October and every week from October 24, 2011 until December 8, 2011
There is no yard waste collection from December 8, 2011 through April 1, 2012.
Drop-off: Belmont residents can drop off leaves for composting from October 24, 2011 until December 10, 2011 (weather permitting) at the Transfer Station located at 1130 Concord Avenue.
